Memorial Day

This morning Maddie and I woke up just in time for the parade...it lasted about an hour and was actually quite pleasant, totally made up for the sucky carnival yesterday. After the parade, we went to a hotel and swam all day. All and all, a wonderful day.

I served 2 years in the ARMY in the early 90's, and had an easy tour of duty compared to some... I am grateful to the men and women who serve in the armed forces. I don't always agree with the politics of war, but I appreciate those who have fought hard, and sacrificed themselves for the sake of freedom.

Thank you for your service.
Our service men and women don't ever get enough credit. They are the real heros.

Maggie-I just read your comment about Dave Matthews....this is the first summer in the last 12 that I have NOT gone to see them.
I am actually a member of the fan club, just so I can buy tickets earlier...and I FORGOT to buy them this year. Talk about a "tool".
We did see him in NYC in Sept at farm aid...for my 40th bday.
Take care-Suz

Hey Mags!
Great blog. Maddie is awesome. So is Mini. So are all your animals, past, present and future.

A sincere thank you for your military service. There is honestly not one day that goes by that I do not thank God for the blessing of living in America. Only God knows where we would have ended up if we weren't able to escape Afghanistan. With the help of the U.S., of course. I salute you!
